This lighting arrangement focuses on direct, structured lighting that brings out the shape and details of your product. It’s versatile, budget-friendly, and great for commercial or personal projects, offering bold highlights and polished results.

 

1️⃣ Key Light

  • Light Type: 150W light with no attachments (e.g., Aputure 150C).
  • Intensity: 75%.
  • Placement: Positioned at an angle from the side, shining direct, harsh light on the can.
  • Purpose: Adds structure and highlights the product’s contours, giving it a bold and defined look.

2️⃣ Background Effect

  • Light Type: 150W light with a gobo projector attachment.
  • Intensity: 100%.
  • Placement: Positioned behind the product with a Spotlight attachment and barndoors to create a stripe pattern.
  • Purpose: Adds a striking red stripe to the background, enhancing depth and drama.

3️⃣ Gradient Backlight

  • Light Type: 150W light with no attachments.
  • Intensity: 60%.
  • Placement: Behind the product, aimed to separate it from the background with a sharp edge.
  • Purpose: Creates a glowing edge that visually separates the product from the backdrop.

4️⃣ Reflective Surface

  • Type: A mirror placed under the product.
  • Purpose: Reflects the product and the red stripe for symmetry and added depth.

5️⃣ Background

  • Type: Black background (or gray, depending on what’s available).
  • Tips: A gray background can appear black in a dark room, offering flexibility for your setup.

 

You don’t need to invest in expensive gear to recreate this setup. Many affordable brands like Godox, Nanlite, and Neewer offer excellent quality lights that can get the job done. With technology improving, even budget-friendly lights can deliver fantastic results.
